Sub-Inspector (SI) Zakir Al Ahsan, Officer-in-Charge of the Amin Bazar Police Outpost in Savar, has been selected as the Best Sub-Inspector of Dhaka District in recognition of his outstanding contribution to maintaining law and order, recovering narcotics, executing arrest warrants and apprehending wanted criminals.

The announcement was made officially on Monday at the monthly welfare meeting of the Dhaka District Police. Dhaka District Police Superintendent (SP) Shamima Parvin handed over a commemorative crest and award to SI Zakir Al Ahsan in recognition of his achievement.

A grand ceremony was held at the Police Lines Mill Barracks in Dhaka as part of the district police’s monthly welfare meeting. At the event, SP Shamima Parvin, who chaired the meeting, presented the award to SI Zakir Al Ahsan in a festive atmosphere. Senior officials of the district police were also present and congratulated him on the achievement.

According to police sources, SI Zakir Al Ahsan set an example of effective policing in August by taking strong action against crime in Amin Bazar, a major gateway to Savar, recovering a significant quantity of narcotics and bringing several wanted individuals with outstanding arrest warrants under the law.

Furthermore, following the killing of a police officer in Amin Bazar on September 5, he led a swift operation and managed to arrest the prime accused, identified as Zahirul, within just seven hours of taking charge of the investigation.

Considering his overall professional performance and contribution to crime prevention, the district police awarded him the prestigious recognition.

Reacting to the award, SI Zakir Al Ahsan said, “This recognition has further strengthened my sense of responsibility. I will continue working tirelessly with the cooperation of local residents to make Amin Bazar completely free from crime and drugs.”
