Banks across Bangladesh will remain open this Friday and Saturday to facilitate the collection of payments for the 2027 Hajj registration, following a directive from Bangladesh Bank.

The central bank has also instructed the relevant banks to continue accepting Hajj-related payments from customers who are still present at the branches after the scheduled banking transaction hours.

The Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department (SDAD) of Bangladesh Bank issued the directive on Wednesday, September 23, and sent it to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all banks.

According to the directive, the decision was taken following a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to facilitate the deposit of registration fees for the 2027 Hajj.

Branches of banks authorized to collect Hajj payments will remain open according to their regular schedules on Friday and Saturday. In addition, banks have been instructed to accept payments for as long as Hajj pilgrims wishing to make deposits remain present at the branches after the scheduled transaction hours.

The banks have also been asked to ensure adequate security while continuing to receive the payments beyond regular banking hours.
