Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has officially registered for the inaugural season of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL), with the tournament authorities confirming his participation in the player registration process.
The APL’s official Instagram account published a post about Taskin on Wednesday, September 23. The Afghanistan Cricket Board also shared the same information through its official social media channels.
The player registration process for the first edition of the APL has already concluded. According to the organizers, more than 1,000 cricketers have registered for the tournament, including over 500 overseas players.
The APL player draft is scheduled to take place on September 27, when Taskin’s potential franchise will be determined.
So far, the Bangladesh fast bowler has not been officially linked with any particular APL franchise. If selected, the tournament will add another overseas league to Taskin’s recent international franchise experience, following appearances in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Zim-Afro T10 and Abu Dhabi T10.
Taskin’s registration has added further interest among Bangladeshi cricket fans as they await the outcome of the APL draft.
